When I fill my gas tank up to FULL, then drive home, it leaks gas out onto the driveway. Also, there is the exhaust right near this, so it seems dangerous. What should I check & how, so that I don't endanger myself in the process? My gas guage has been broken for sometime, but I just use the trip odometer, and keep good track of how much gas I've used. Maybe this has to do with it. With the high cost of gas, this is costly. I'm concerned that the system is NOT sealed, too, which could lead to evaporation (also costly).

I would jack the car up on jack stands (so the car is level because it might not leak with one side jacked up.) And inspect the fuel line running from the gas tank and the tank it self. Also check the fuel lines by the fuel filter as it may be leaking. Follow the line all the way to the fuel rail. If it's leaking that bad you'll find the leak.

Oh yes , I missed the FULL part when I read it last night. I would check the hose that goes from the gas cap to the tank. As this is all I can think of without visually inspecting it myself.
