Hello all, I have a 1989 BMW 325I convertible and the car just won't start. Symptoms: ignition key turns, all instrument panel lights illuminate and car sits quietly. First non-mechanical guess? Starter, Therefore I had that changed out. With the same results. Next a relay? But which one? I have been told that this vehicle has several Relays that may relate to this issue. More symptoms. Checked Voltage to ignition coil with ignition key engaged. Nothing. Checked Voltage at the starter solenoid with the ignition key engaged. Nothing. The car ran problem free. Parked it and when I came back out to run. Nothing.
Any suggestions would be Appreciated. Im located in Dallas.

I have the same model and year car. My problem was that my car would shut of while going down the road. First I would suggest you check your distributor and rotar make sure its not fouled up. If that is not the problem. Then take of your steering wheel and the plastic covers and on the right side of the steering column is a screw check to make sure it is tight and the wire doesn't wiggle that is your ground to your ignition and to your windshield wipers. That was my fix so good luck and keep us updated.
