I changed my fuel pump this past winter. When I pulled out the fuel pump assembly out of the tank and I notice that the gas looked blood red and a subsist that looks like oil, but it's not oil. I don't think. I don't know what it is. Any ideas? What should I do? I've never seen gas look like this before.

Good morning,

You are right.

Can you post a picture of the fuel? I want to see it. It sounds like it is contaminated with something.

These pictures were taken at night in the garage, clear 2 litter pop bottles are the containers I held a powerful LED flashlight behind/above etc. The second picture I was trying to focus more on the black/brown substance pooled up at the very bottom if you look closely you will see what I'm talking about. I've replaced a hand full of fuel pumps in my time I've never seen gas look like this before ever!

That is contaminated fuel. You need to drop the tank and flush the tank of all debris.
