Engine Mechanical problem
2003 Audi A4 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 134000 miles

I have been having problems with my a4 the past few days and now it wont start. The past few days It wasnt sounding healthy starting and then all of a sudden the date and time restored back to factory settings on the dash. After that it said I had no fuel in the tank I brought it to a garage and put petrol in it and there was twice as much in it then that I had put in it? So I got into it this morning and it wouldnt start at all the speedometre and the other clock just kept jumping up and down so I got it jumped started and drove it for a bit. I parked it up and tried to start it again straight away and the same thing happened- restored time settings needle on clocks jumping and no fuel on dash. I really worried can you please help. Thankyou

Check battery first for voltage should be at 12 to13.5 volts for a good start at the same time check terminals for acid builup that would cause a weak contact on both side post @ top post if voltage is down charge battery, once you have it running check for alternator voltage, note if battery does not take charge replace then have the alternator checked if bad alternator replace it if all youve checked turns out good, before purchasing anything make sure the tension on your belt is good sometimes when its not tight enough your alternator does not charge properly let me know how it turns out
