My daughter has a 98 VW Golf, 4 cyl, 130,000 miles.
Her car stalled, then started, then died again. We tried to get it home but wouldn't work. My husband checked the starter, checked plugs, ignition, battery, alternator, it is pulled fuel in, check for vacuum leak. Someone told him to squirt carb cleaner to see if it was the fuel pump. Can you give us any other options. She starts school tomorrow. She or I do not have the funds to take it into the Dealer. Help

I assume you are getting good spark all of the time, not just some of the time, especially when the vehicle does not wish to run.

Get a fuel pressure check done. It needs to deliver over 35 lbs of pressure to make the system function well. The pressure can be there at first but then fade. Check that out. It needs a constant high pressure.
