I have an 88 bonneville SSE with 214000kms it has a 3.8L engine. The other day the check engine light came on and then went off a couple times and then after stopping the car, it would not start, it fires once and then stops and does not start again it just turns over if you leave it for a while it will start for a second and then die then back to just turning over.

I bought a scanner and the computer came back with a code 41, so I changed the cam sensor and got nothing, I have checked for spark and there is spark. The code says it could be the cam sensor, cylinder select error, tach input error, EST open or shorted to ground during engine run, direct ignition system fault- bypass circuit open or shorted to ground during engine run and finally ignition system fault- loss of 1x reference pulse signal.
I don't no how to check the last three. Can someone please help? I need to get this thing running by tues for work. Thanks

I have now changed the DIS and the coil pack. Now it just turns over and doesn't fire at all. Can someone guide me with the next steps.
By the way the computer doesn't come back with any fault codes now.
