I have a 96 intrepid and I was wondering if any one has had this problem. Its over heating but I checked the thermostat it is ok, I thought it might be blown headgasket. But when I pulled the oil drain plug there wasnt any water present in the oil. Does anyone know what it might be Thanks in advance. Rayj

If your sure about what you posted, are the cooling fans running and what about the waterpump? Radiators do get clogged and junk can collect between the fins of the radiator. I have seen a cracked water jacket in the engine head cause this and there was no water in the oil.

But if theres a crack in the water jacket would you see it leak the water out or would it evaporate or what.
And how can I tell if the water pump is bad or cirrculating? If it turns out to be the waterpump how difficult of a job is that to do. Thank You rayjdawg
