I have the exact problem. The truck has run for 123K miles with NO problems and then last Saturday, it wouldn't start. When I turn the key on, I get a strange clicking in the engine and fuel pump relays as well as the purge solenoid (located between the battery and fender.) I'm able to get it to fire by pumping the gas pedal and racing the engine but it runs like all the plug wires have been switched around! It won't idle, period. The Car Doctor (www. Texascardoctor. Com) suggests the crank sensor, throttle position sensor or a short in the TPS wiring. Not sure where the crank sensor is but the TPS is a simple replacement and less than $50. Are you getting the "clicking" noise under the hood?
