2001 Civic GX w/ CVT - replace with manual transmission?

I have a 2001 Civic GX with a CVT that is becoming a CHT (Constant Headache Transmission). How difficult would it be to replace the CVT with a manual transmission. I know I would have to replace the bigger brake pedal, install a clutch pedal, linkage, etc. I'm pretty mechanically inclined (rebuilt engines, etc.) Are there issues I may not be aware of? Will a manual transmission mate to the GX engine okay? Will it mount in the car okay?

HELP!

Thanks
