My 03 Sunfire front end kluncks when turning hard to right or left. No noise when wheel turned hard when sitting idle, or cornering on the highway. Car has 99,900 km. Checked ball joints, tie rod ends. Recently had front rotors changed and there was no noise before this.

More than likely cv half shafts are bad, but should be a progressive thing, starting out with light clicking and progressively gets worse. Which side is another question. Check to see if one of the rubber boots is torn or missing. Usually turning left and noise indicates the right side and vice versa. I would recommend taking to a different mechanic seeing how there was no noise before brakes were done.

Have arranged for a mechanic to look at. Was told possibly upper strut mounts worn.
