Hello experts,

The serpentine belt broke, drove it for 30 kms, had smoke coming out from under the hood. It got super hot, melted the water reservoir. Next morning I had a new serpentine belt and a new water reservoir. Started the engine after checking the engine oil level and refilling water in the radiator. Noticed that the rubber on the radiator cap was damaged so changed that as well.
I took the car out for a ride noticed that the car was getting overheated. Stopped and checked the water in the reservoir was boiling. Added a little bit cold water to it. After 3 minutes or so all that water got sucked in to the block I guess due to the vacuum. Could not find any water leaks when filled the water again. Did the same thing again same result. Thought it was the thing that opens and closes the water flow. Changed that but still same result.
I don't have lot of money to spend but need the car fixed. Dad had a stroke so I had to drive the car to get home, even after realizing that the serpentine belt was broken.

Please help me. Thanks

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your dad.

This sounds like a head gasket issue. It could be other things but that is the most likely. We need to check it first because if we don't eliminate that as the cause then we will be wasting time and money.

Here is a guide on how to check it:

Also, you should check your oil to see if you have any coolant in the engine. If you do, this is most likely a failed head gasket.

Let me know what you find and we can go from there. Thanks
