Had to replace motor still a stock 5.7 vortec. Had to change alternator and fuel filter now truck will only crank sometimes others all it does is lights on dash come on as normal brand new battery in it. It has an aftermarket keyless entry on it and the security light on top of dash went from flashing to staying steady on whether key is off or on. Now won’t crank at all.

If the theft light is staying on solid then I suspect this is not related to the engine swap. It may have started when you did this but for some reason the vehicle has entered into a theft situation.

Try putting the key in the ignition and turning it to the on position for 30 minutes or until the theft light turns off.

However, can you get a picture or video of this light? I am only showing a radio theft system and not a vehicle theft system. Meaning I don't show this truck as having an ignition disabling system when it is active. So can we also check and see what codes are there if any?
