1995 Acura Legend

My daughter bought a 1995 Acura Legend that she is now stuck with. She says that there is gray smoke coming out of the muffler. What could be the cause(s) of this so that she can fix the problem before it gets to expensive for her to afford.

Maybe engine coolant a check of coolant level. Also check engine oil any discoloration?

Thank you, I will have her have this checked out also. I told her to get a diagnostic test also.
