A/C not getting cold

My engine seized about 7 months ago. I had to remove it and install a newer one. It is now up and running, however, the A/C isn't getting cold like it used to.

These conditions should help you:
1. I have filled the A/C, I made sure not to over fill the A/C.
2. The compressor is kicking on.
3. The blower is functioning at the correct speeds, and in the right locations.
4. It seems as though it knows that it is supposed to be cold, as it produces roughly the same temperature as the outside air when turned all the way cold. And likewise becomes much hotter the closer to neutral or hot the dial is turned.

Good morning.

Based on your description, it sounds like the A/C is working from a functional standpoint. Depending on how long you had the a/c system disconnected or open during the engine swap, it's very possible you have an accumulation of moisture in the system. While the system may be working, if moisture is mixed with the refrigerant, it won't have the ability to provide the intended cooling effect. The more moisture, the less efficient the system is. This is why the A/C system must be pulled down and held in a vacuum prior to recharging.

Take a look at the link below for proper system evacuation and charging. Most parts stores will loan the necessary tools (A/C gauge set and vacuum pump) to complete this process.
