I’ve read your article on how to vacuum off and recharge my auto A/C system. The A/C in my truck hasn’t run for 6 years so I’m going to vacuum off the system and start over. That way I know that there are the proper amounts of refrigerant, compressor oil, stop leak, and dye in the system. What I need to learn is when do I and the compressor oil? How do I add the oil? And how much do I put in? The same questions apply to the stop leak and dye.

Good morning,

You add the same amount of oil that is removed when you recover the Freon. In most cases, there is very little if any removed. If you need to add oil, the machine will do it for you. this guide will help

Never, never, never ever add a sealer to the system. It damages the system operation and besides, it does nothing for a leak. The leak needs to be identified and repaired.

Okay. When in the recharge process do I add the oil before the Freon or after? And how exactly do I get the oil into the system? Is it as simple as pouring it in through the port or is it connected to the gauges the same way the Freon is?

After you evacuate the system, you add the oil before you add Freon. You can get however much oil you need and they have the tool to add it. Then you add the Freon.
