Hi, can you help? I have not used my A/C in years.
Last night we put Duracool stop leak and attempted to put refrigerant into my 2006 Nissan Xtrail LE. The Duracool gauge showed the top of the 'blue area', indicating enough pressure so we did not even install 1/10 of the refrigerant bottle. We had the A/C turned on high. The A/C light on the dash works and air blows through the vents.
I am not sure what to do now? Do I check the A/C fuse? If so, where is it located? I do not know where the compressor is. How do I check if the compressor is working? Many thanks,
Elka
PS. Hoping to beat the heat and humidity.

Good evening.

Adding stop leak was a bad idea. It does nothing for a leak and causes sticking issues with the expansion valve.

Does the compressor engage? When the AC is on, what is the reading on your gauge?

That gauge you have does not tell you the amount of Freon in the system. It just shows pressure.

Do you have a set of gauges that will read the high and low sides of the AC with the engine running?
