The A/C will not get cold and I just put a can of Freon in it.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

First, is the AC compressor engaging and cycling on and off? If it isn't, you may not have enough Freon in the system, or what you put in may have leaked.

If you could, what I suggest is getting an AC manifold gauge set. Most parts stores will lend them to you. Once you get them, hook them up and let me know what both the high and low side pressure readings are. Additionally, let me know what the outside temperature is when you perform the test.

Here is a link for evacuating and recharging the system. It includes how to use the gauges I referred to.

Here is a link that shows in general how to add enough Freon to the system:

You can try the second link to see if it helps. If it doesn't, see if you can get your hands on a set of gauges as I previously mentioned and let me know the pressures in the system. With that I should be able to point you in the right direction to fixing it.

Let me know,
Joe
