First off I will start with the easy. Yes it s an SL2 yes it is the DOHC engine. It is not overheating the water pump is about to be replaced and it is leaked oil in the coolant but no coolant in the oil. What should we replace after the water pump is done (it wore out and was not working very well) so the car stops leaking oil into the coolant. Everyone talks about the SOHC engine so what can I do to my DOHC to save it.

Good afternoon.

You may have either a bad head gasket or a cracked block.

I have posted some information for you to read.

So there is not a good chance it can be fixed through replacing the valve cover gasket or the head and the realistic cause is the head gasket or block and it is not going to be an easy fix in the end no matter what?

It will not be the valve cover gasket at all as there is no coolant at that location.

Yes, it could be fixed with the head gasket or block but would be very expensive. If it is confirmed as one of them, I would suggest looking for another motor to replace and the cost will be substantial.
