4x4 quit working. Lights come on, found a missing snap ring on the left output shaft, replaced that. Had already texted the accuater. Right output shaft was in place so it wasn't pulled apart and inspected. Splines on the left output shaft had signs of wear, but seemed to be safely fully functional. Where do I start? Is there a trouble shooting guide on this somewhere?

Hi,

Let's start with if the front drive shaft is spinning? If that is spinning then we know the transfer case is operating. Attached is the operation of it. You will see that if the gears are meshed then the switch will turn the light on. Since you said the light comes on we can assume they are meshing to close the switch which means the drive shaft should be spinning.

If that is the case then we have a front diff or axle issue. I suspect you are already heading that direction which is why you mentioned the axles. However, let me get on the same page as you by confirming this and we can go from there.

Then can you tell me which transfer case you have?

Thanks
