Four-wheel drive shifter is stuck

I just bought the truck listed above Silverado and the floor mounted four-wheel drive shifter is stuck and won't move at all.

This could be a couple of things. So, we need to start with removing the shift rod from the transfer case and make sure it moves freely.

If it does, then I would lift the 4 tires off the ground and try to manually move the shifter on the transfer case. Here is a guide that will help with this:

If the transfer case still does not shift when you have it lifted and in neutral, then your issue is in the transfer case. A lot of times they get bound up and it is not easy to move them.

However, if this doesn't work then we are going to have to disassemble it to find out what is happening inside the unit.
