1) THEY MAKE FREEZE PLUG HEATERS- A FREEZE PLUG IS REMOVED SOMEWHERE WHERE THE "UNIT" WILL FIT IN (WITHOUT HITTING SOMETHING INSIDE THE WATER JACKET) THIS THING RESEMBLES AN ELECTRIC WATER HEATER ELEMENT, 'CEPT SHORTER, AND IT HAS A FREEZE PLUG SORTA ENCASING IT (SO IT DON'T LEAK). YOU PLUG IT INTO AN OUTLET VIA IT'S CORD
THIS THING HEATS THE WATER (COOLANT), USUALLY A PROFESSIONAL NEEDS TO FIND THE SPOT AND INSTALL IT
2) THEY MAKE A "DIPSTICK HEATER"- IT SIMPLY TAKES THE PLACE OF YOUR DIPSTICK, THIS PUPPY HEATS YOUR OIL, THE WARMTH OF THE OIL, IS SUPPOSED TO TRANSFER HEAT FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE PAN UPWARD INTO THE ENGINE. AGAIN, YOU PLUG IT INTO A 110 VOLT OUTLET
3) I LIKE THIS WAY THE MOST, HOWEVER YOU MUST HAVE ROOM TO SPLICE IT INTO YOUR LOWER RADIATOR HOSE AND IN AN "UPWARD" PORTION TOWARD THE INLET OF THE WATER PUMP (AS PER IT'S INSTRUCTIONS). I HAVE HAD 1st HAND EXPERIENCE WITH THIS ONE, IT WORKS SO VERY WELL! IT WAS NOT HARD AT ALL TO INSTALL. IT ALSO COMES IN VARIOUS SIZES TO ACCOMMODATE YOUR HOSE SIZE.
