I was driving the car and it lost power and just stopped running. Now it just turns over but wont crank and its not getting fire to spark plugs. Took the timing belt cover off and noticed that its about due a new belt from wear and tear but dont know if thats the problem. What do you think?

If it is not broken it will not be the problem, best try and get a scan done first, to check for any codes that may be set.

While driving my vehicle I had it in second gear while turning. The engined stalled the odometer read before it kind of reset. I attempted to restart my car, all the dash lights turned on but the car wouldn't crank. This is the first mechanical problem that I have with this vehicle. What could this be.

Possible problem with the PCM "Powertrain Control Module" (the computer in the car).

Or a problem with the Anti-Theft device.

Either could cause the "" on the odometer, and the car to not crank.

I have a 2007 Ford Focus and I had the same problem and was told by a mechanic also that it was the computer or PCM. I went and bought a use one for my car, my boyfriend went to put it in but decided to check the fuse and my car started so now I have an extra computer for my car. I wasted $100. Just wanted to share my story so the next person does not go out and buy a new one but get the fuse checked.

The car just had an alternator replaced, it ran fine after the replacement. There was a ground wire under the hood that went from the wiring harness that runs across the top of the engine. This wire was connected to the passenger side strut tower. Now the odometer and the trip counter are all "dashes" and I don't hear the fuel pump rattle like I use to.

So, what are you saying? The ground wire is no longer there? Not connected, connected somewhere else?

The ground wire was there. It looked as though it had been broken, It ran out of the harness and to the passenger side strut tower. It was just a small black wire. Everything worked fine before I connected that wire. I have disconnected the wire, but it is still there. I don't hear the fuel pump rattle when I turn the key on and it does nothing. I have all the lights, radio, wipers, blower motor works, it seems that the odometer is all dashes and it won't turn over. I checked all the fuses and none of then seemed to be blown out

You probably want to take that wire back off until you can confirm what it is and where it should be.

For now test ALL of your fuses and fusible links.
