Running above normal and what activates the electric cooling fan?

Is it normal that at 120 kph the temperature is running above normal and what activates the electric fan

Hello,

An inoperative cooling fan can be due to a bad fan relay, faulty coolant temperature sensor or a defective fan motor.
First check the relay. It is located in the fuse box under the hood. Do a visual inspection for any corrosion or burn pin(s).

If the relay is good, check to see if you are getting power to the fan. You can also attach 12V power source to the fan to see if it comes on.

Another possible cause is a faulty coolant temperature sensor. A faulty temperature sensor will send error message to the ECM and the fan will not get turned on, regardless of the engine temperature.
