How much could an electrical problem cost me? And what could possibly be the problem?

Hello,

So, when you turn the key what does the engine do? Does it make any noise? Does it click, or cranks over?

Just so that we cover the basics, have you tried to jump start the vehicle?
It is possible that the battery has enough power to turn on the lights but not enough to start the engine.

If you are able to jump start it and the vehicle runs normally, then all you will need is a battery.
If it does not start it could be due to a bad starter, faulty fuel pump, lack of spark.

Here are a couple of helpful guides:

Go through these and let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
