What can cause a roar ( starts about 10 mph and gets louder the faster you go ) in the front end of 2007 suzuki XL7 (110 k miles )?
It did same noise after front end collision 3 yrs ago, insurance repaired but gave no detail.

A roar noise that gets faster or louder as the vehicle increases in speed is normally a bearing noise.

Basically if the noise is not there but comes in as you start moving then we need to focus on the items that are turning only when the vehicle is moving. That would be wheel bearings, driveline bearings or even tires.

I would suggest starting with checking the tires and make sure they are not cupped as this will cause this noise starting around 10 MPH.

If they are okay then more then likely this is a bearing. To isolate which one, drive the vehicle in a swerving motion down the road. This will load and unload the front wheel bearings. When the bearing is loaded it will quite down so you know which side it is.

Please run through this material and let us know what you find. Please let us know if you have questions. See below for a chart on tire wear which will help with finding out if this is the issue.

Thanks
