My 16 year old daughter has the above car. She told me today that on two occassions, she noticed the engine and oil light on while driving, both times the next time she started the car, the lights did not come on. I asked my husband to check the oil levels, which were fine. He also drove the car and no lights came on and the oil gauge looks normal, any ideas?

Hello,

The oil light can come on when there is low oil pressure due to a faulty sensor. It can also have loose connection or corrosion in the connector.
The oil pressure sensor is located toward the bottom of the engine (see diagram). Make sure the connector is secure and free of corrosion.

Unless you are able to scan the vehicle when the engine light is illuminated it will be difficult to know what could be the trigger for it.

I attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
