Heater in my car works sometimes.
Car has to move for heater to get warm/hot. What could it be?

Have you checked to make sure the coolant level is full? Also, is the engine running at a normal operating temp?

Coolant okay, temp is normal. Friend has same issue with Chevy Trail Blazer (just started). I can be setting idle and give it the gas and the heater will start to heat up?

It sounds like low coolant or an air block.

Jacobandnickolas,
Thanks so much for the help. My coolant is good. Where can I begin to check for the air block issues?

Check the top of the thermostat housing. There may be a bleeder there. If there isn't, you need to loosten the return line from the heater core to see if air comes out.

Let me know what you find. Also, you may want to consider flushing the heater core if this doesn't help.
