Hello,

you are to use a dremel tool to cut the locking tabs off then just pull the socket out here are diagrams for both styles of lighter socket in dash and in the ashtray. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers

They actually make a tool that inserts into the socket to release and slide out to change it.

Amazon had the the tool I am talking about it goes in the hole and pushes in the two retaining prongs and helps you slide the old one out. They work really good. Dremel tool

The first step is to remove the center console. Next, remove the power wire, ground wire, and light. The power wire and ground wires have a push clip to release them, and I had to wiggle it considerably to get it to come loose. The light is removed by turning it a quarter turn and pulling down gently.
Then, unscrew the ring located on the bottom of the lighter. After that, the assembly should be loose, and the socket and light ring can be removed from the top. The other pieces are removed from the bottom.

My cigarette outlets dont work in my 2007 impala. I have 3 outlets, one in the median and 2 in the dash under the radio. I've already checked my fuses. What could it be?
