I drive a 2006 Chevy Impala, when turning at low speeds roughly around 5-10 mph there is a loud grinding noise coming from the driver side front wheel. Any suggestions what may be causing this to happen. I do need to replace my brakes but, was curious if I was in need of something other than brakes. Also, intermediately service brake and traction control lights come on

If you already know the brakes are bad, then you should be replacing them. If anything else is wrong it will likely be spotted in the process.

Would bad brakes be the cause of the service lights coming on? The service lights only come on when the car is cold starting.
