Sounds to me as if it could be the multifunction switch.

Where would that be located in a Chevy impala 2006 Ls and I have another question sorry also am having a problem where my mileage is it's turning on all my engine light etc could that be the sensors of the car or what can be the cause of that please and thank you and sorry about all the questions just trying to fix my car
