Gas gauge

Gas gauge stop working.

It could be a faulty gauge itself, a wiring problem, or with the senders (there are two). Explain a little more on the exact nature of the problem, i.E. By not working, what specifically happens. Does it run out of fuel with fuel still being shown on the gauge, or is it stuck on empty regardless of how much fuel you add?

I was driving in the rain for about an hour had half of tank of gas looked at gauge and it was empty add gas and the gauge showed empty regardless.

The next step I would suggest, is determining that the gauge itself works. That requires a scan tool that will perform a gauge sweep test. I have not seen a sender fault that makes the gauge read empty all the time, and like I say, there are two sending units, primary and secondary. The tank design, has two sides, and a siphon pump to transfer fuel from side to side.
