When turning steering wheel a rubber burning smell is noticed. Very noticable on the front driver side tire. What can be the cause?

You will have to get that side of the suspension check out. Something may have given way and the suspension is causing the tyre to rub on the wheel arch or the suspension, get this done ASAP, I would try and get a mechanic to check it at home as it may not be safe to drive as it is.
