Hello,

I have the location and the guide on how to change your cars engine thermostat. Here is the guide to show you what you are in for when doing the job.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/replace-thermostat

You should drain and flush the system as well.

Here is what it will be like on your car I have included both 4 and 6 cylinder engines just in case.

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers, Ken

Hi there,
Check the following website; it should give you a good idea of the cost:

Honestly though you could probably do it yourself; it's easy, and a new thermostat costs around $5...

Hope this help

2003 Chevy Malibu had it flushed and changed ECT sensor. Now white smoke coming from tail pipe and rough idling.

Overheated three times and had to limp it home. It appears to do the overheating when you reach your destination and shut the car off would overflow through the overflow tank no water leaking anywhere else. The last time it overheated the engine shut off as I was driving.

Engine problem
2002 Chevy Malibu Engine Size unknown All Wheel Drive Automatic 90000 miles

The engine coolant light has come on several times even during the summer months, I have had to had water several times in the summer and antifreeze so far several times this winter, I was told it had to do something with the thermostat. Recently, in the last couple of days when I pick up speed if acts as if it doesn't want to change gears, I have to floor it to get it past 55 and floor to get to 70. On the speedometer the RPM's goes close to 5. Need to know what I need to get done and estimate how much it would cost for these 2 issues?

Your coolant leak could be your intake manifold gasket, very common. And you could have a clogged fuel filter causing your lack of power. Have these checked. Feedback is greatly appreciated.

I recently had a problem when I drove the car 2003 malibuand came home and parked it all the antifreeze would come poring out, brought to mechanic and he changed the thermostat. Brought the car home and it did it again, brought back to the mechanic and said the system need to be bled AND ANITI FREEZE CHANGED. Just drove it again today and it leaked but not as much when I opened the hood I noticed that the overflow bottle has a hose attached that is attached to nothing and that seems were today's leak came from is that hose supposed to be just loose and not attached to anything. Need advise please.

Is there a fitting on the radiator where that hose might go? Call the person that worked on it, if you can't find where the hose fits.
