I was in the car and the sound went off there is no door chime. I can't access the fuse box under the drivers side to pull the amp fuse the seat won't tilt up. I disconnected the cable on the battery that did not work. I'm not sure where the amp is in the back of the car other than on the drivers side. How much of that rear panels I have to remove?
Thanks Tommy Ps I figure the seat issue later!

Hello,

You should check the radio, RSA/RSE, and AMP fuses first here is a guide to help you check for power.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-fuse

Here are the fuse locations and the locations of the radio components with the wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Is there any audio from the speakers. The first thing to do, would be to disconnect the battery cables and short them together. This will reboot the vehicle, and perhaps correct the condition.

Our 2005 cadillac srx suddenly lost all sound from the radio. It turns on, seeks, scans, and switches from radio mode to cd mode but no sound. Any suggestions?

The only thing that comes to mind, right off hand, is possible logic lock of the amp. Does the door chime function? You can try removing power to the radio and amp via the left rear fuse block. It is under the rear seat cushion, at the front, under the carpet. The fuses are AUDIO and AMP. Or try disconnecting the battery cables, touching them together for a minute or so, and reconnecting them.

I did not receive any reply on whether this brought the radio back, I did receive some votes so I have to assume it may have worked.

Had car inspected today and serviceman said he had to jump the car to get it started (not sure why-battery seemed good when I dropped it off). As a result, when I left the shop, the radio/navigation screen is dead. Will not respond to any buttons.

Take both cables loose and short them together for about a minute, and reconnect. Often times jump starting will create a logic lock condition in various modules, and can be reset be discharging the capacitors, which is accomplished by shorting the battery cables together.

It should be in the radio balance and fade adjustment, do you have the manual for the car?

Please let us know what happens.

Best, Ken

Try pushing the tone button, then fader, then press and hold the menu/select button down until the number changes to 0. That will reset the fader to center.

To adjust it to a different number just rotate the menu knob and push the button once to set.

Does this vehicle have the rear seat DVD infotainment option? If so that option has rear seat headphones that use their own controls. If you hold the stereos power button on for 3 seconds it will turn off the rear option and enable the "normal" speakers.

Did this just all of a sudden occur, or was it after a power loss, or jump start? First thing I always try, is disconnecting the battery cables, and touching them together. If it is a logic lock condition, this can often clear it.

My husband purchased XM radio for my car and I love it but I cannot get it to display the song titles and artists as it does in his STS. If my car is XM ready shouldn't I be able to have this information displayed? Will I have to take it to a dealer for assistance?

Is it an aftermarket type of system, with a remote keypad? If it is, then it was just integrated into the vehicles sound system, and any display issues are respective to the unit itself.
