Rough idle, stalls

Hi the rev counter is dipping when idle and sometimes cuts out is this a sign of a stretched timing chain?

This is unlikely to be a timing chain issue. It sounds more like an idle control issue.

I would suggest starting with the basics to find out if there are any codes or other signs that would point to a timing chain issue. Here is a guide that will help with pulling codes:

If there are no codes then we need to inspect the throttle bore for carbon build up and clean it if you find any. Here is a guide that will help with this:

If none of this checks out then I would suggest checking for a vacuum leak as that is the next most likely cause of this.

Below you will find the process to relearn the idle and the throttle blade closed position. This will need to be performed if the throttle is cleaned so that the PCM can learn the new position as it will likely change slightly.
