I recently replaced the oil pump and had to take the engine out. Once Complete I put the engine back. When I start the engine and want to take the car for a test drive the gear shift not even completely in gear( 1st gear) the car starts to move forward and it does the same in all the other gears. Reverse gear does exactly the same. There were no problem prior the oil pump change. Does the clutch needs breeding?

Make sure the fluid in the clutch reservoir is full. If it is, try bleeding it at the slave cylinder.

I did what u said in your reply but the car still doesn't go into gear is it possible that the slave cylinder is an old goner?

If the transmission shifts easily with the engine off, then the clutch isn't fully releasing. Yes, either one of the hydraulic components may be bad, and since you had the engine out, something may not be together correctly.
