2004 Ford Crown Victoria not sparking

Car won't start. Mechanic says not sparking. N. Might b. Brain. It has police interceptor. N has no anti theft as most do. Therefore The. Key doesn't have ad anti theft on it n dash light does not acknowledge anti theft system. Mechanic told us 2 have locksmith come b4 start car with da new brain. But since it has not got that anti theft. Do we still need a locksmith n what else could b wrong

Question One. Does the engine turn over. Can you hear the starter trying to start the engine.
Next thing to do is remove a plug and place it near the block when trying to start see if its getting spark
if it is not getting spark to then check the coil packs. You can remove them and have them tested at the auto part store for free.
If packs are good, no spark to pack check the ICM you can also have that tested for free.

Check online on how t reset anti theft. If you are replacing the ecm you don't need a locksmith you need amechanic that knows what he is doing as obviously your sdoesn't they have to be programmed to your car. Scan for codes and check fuel pressure with a gauge first and check fuses underhood. Then if still not starting take to someone who knows wha tthey are doing.
