I have a little red light located on the left hand side of steering wheel by the fog light switch and thumbwheel switch. It just started to flash yesterday and it wouldn't start at all. Wouldn't turn over or anything. Just guages would light up.I disconnected the battery over night and tried it this morning and it started but the little red light remains flashing. Just concerned that all of a sudden car will not decide to start again. Not sure if this is a security light cause I do have the theftlock light also in the radio and the security light in the dash which those lights both go out when the car is running.

Last summer this little light started to flash my car wouldn't start and under further investigation found out my battery was no good. After buying another battery. The light went out and had no trouble until yesterday when it started to flash and car wouldn't start until I disconected the battery cables and tried it again but the light remains flashing.

A factory gm security system has a security light on the cluster not a little led light like that. That looks like a aftermarket alarm what does the back of the remote say?Does it have a number that starts with gm then a bunch of numbers? Can you post a pic of the remote?

Unfortunately when I bought the car the dealer didn't give me a remote for it but I was considering on installing a " Compustar Remote Car Starter".I originally stopped at the dealer to see if I could get a remote for it but he said he doesn't recognize the hardware thats installed in my car. So im just wondering if installing a new car starter would fix this problem?

You have a aftermarket alarm installed in that car and it sounds like its causing the car to randomly not start. Your best bet is to take it to a car alarm shop and have them look at it. They may be able to get you a remote and get the exsiting alarming working. Let me know what you find.
