what are the symptoms of car needing water pump replacement? Getting an "engine" smell after arriving at destination

Losing engine coolant from the reservoir, (the level will go up and down when the engine heats up and cools down but it should never run empty), a puddle on the ground, coolant running down the front of the engine, (passenger side on front-wheel-drive cars), cold air from the heater when the coolant level gets low enough, and grinding or rumbling noises from the front of the engine.
