A bought a mercury sable car second from a friend, it happened that two months ago as I was driving the car just stopped suddenly, a mechanic said it was ignition coil, in changed it yet the car refused to start, initially a mechanic suggested it was a fuel pump fault I fixed the fuel pump still no way now another mechanic said it is the sensor. Pls what could be the problem, I am confused.

i doesn't crank at all.

There are a number of things that will cause this, but I would suggest starting with fuel pressure and spark.

Here is a video that will get us started:

First, I would check the pressure and make sure the fuel pump is working.

If the pressure is okay, then we need to pull a plug and check for spark.

If you have no spark, then I suspect the crank sensor is the issue.

I am attaching the process below on how to replace this as that is the likely cause and I would replace this and retest.

Please let us know what happens with this and we can go from there.

Thanks
