I own a 2002 Mercury Cougar 2.5L. I need to know the EXACT location of the fuel pressure regulator. Ford gave me a diagram of the location underneath the Intake. But I have the intake disassembled and still cannot see the regulator.

Hello,

Here is how you change a fuel pressure regulator.

REMOVAL

Release the fuel pressure.
Remove the upper intake manifold.
Disconnect the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator.
Disconnect the intake manifold runner control operating rod.
Remove the fuel pressure regulator.
Discard the O-rings seals.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
