My 2002 Honda CRV is recently revving up the engine and then when I slow down to turn or stop at a light it dies out completely. What could be the issue?

If engine is revving up while driving, it could be the transmission slipping. Check the transmission fluid level.

Engine stalling could be a fault with the idling circuit.

Is the Check Engine Light indicating?

Its got 135,000 miles on the car and check engine light came on yesterday. Its actually a friend of mines car and just trying to help figure if its something major.
