It sounds like you have a crankshaft angle sensor that has gone bad. When this sensor goes bad it will not trigger the ignition system to work.

Here is a guide that will give you an idea of what you are in for when doing the job:

This guide may help as well.

What code are you getting? It could be the immobilizer causing the problem and the best way to reset it is to remove the negative battery cable and tough it the positive side for five minutes this will discharge the capacitors and reset the system.

Here is a guide:

Please let us know what happens.

Sorry for the delay in replying. You are welcome!

Some say if the immobilizer is a separate unit, you could bypass the system to get the engine started. Try unplugging the PCM and waiting a few minutes before plugging it in and retest.

My car Toyota Duet Model 2002 cannot start its engine. Its engine cracking but not starting. The problem started when playing FM music after the battery cell got down. New battery purchased and wanted to start but it no longer starts now.

Please assist what would be the likely cause?

Thank you

Buying a vehicle depends on many factors, purpose, budget, size, comfort, fuel economy etc. Buying a used vehicle requires additional areas to look into such as condition of vehicle, its maintenance history and usage. You have to consider upkeep cost as well. Generally Toyota vehicles don't have much negative aspects.
