I had a friend of mine install a remote start. During the install he woulld start the car and it would work fine, he used everything required for the remote start installation including the GM PASSLOCK 2 bypass module, but after he was done with everything he tried to start the car, it did but immediately shuts off. And now it wont start at all. He stated that the car wont start not because of the alarm, but because the fuel pump went bad, he even had me listen to the fuel pump and in fact the pump does not make any noise. He said that if was the alarm the car would start with the key and not the remote starter. Also because the theft-system light was not flashing. To further prove his point he removed the alarm unit and still the car would not start. He even try the relearn procedure for the key and noting. He said that the antitheft was not the problem because the theft-system light does not flash during the relearn procedure like it is stated.

If the fuel pump is bad, you can test it. Remove the fuel pump relay and apply battery voltage to terminal #3, grey wire and if the fuel pump works, it is not faulty.

Ensure you have battery voltage at terminal # 5 at all times. You can jump terminal # 3 and # 5 with a fused wire to test.
