2001 Honda CRV Screeching noise on start up

When I start my car after it's been sitting a while, there is a screeching noise. After I drive around for a while and start it up again, the screeching noise is gone. What could be the problem?

Typically that is due to a slipping serpentine belt. The belt may be worn or the spring-loaded tensioner may be weak. A tipped or turned pulley can do that too, but it will usually happen all the time.
