Shakes and the steering wheel

My steering wheel vibrates and my car starts to move side to side when I'm starting to go. Then as I gain speed the car still shakes and the steering wheel is shaking back and forth like crazy. When I start going about 60 mph its less shaky. What is going on?

Have the wheel alignment/suspension/tires checked

Have the front end parts, tires(proper inflation), alignment, and struts checked. If OK check engine and transmission mounts.
