Click no start

When I turn the ignition in my caravan all I get is one click and that's it. It doesn't try to turn over or anything else, it just clicks once. What could be wrong with it?

How do I check the battery? Should I check the alternator as well? How do I know if this is a starter issue?

Hello,

First of all, have you tried to jump start the car?
It could be as simple as you battery.
If you try to jump start it and it also only just clicks, it could be the starter.
