VW Cabriolet leaks fluid when pouring it into manual transmission

I took the car for an oil change, asked the tech to check the manual transmission fluid also, they try changing the transmission fluid but when pouring in the new fluid it started to leak between the engine and transmission. It would not hold the fluid in the transmission.

Checking

* Remove screw for transmission oil inspection (arrow)
* The oil level is correct if the transmission is filled to the lower edge of the oil filler hole
* Install screw (arrow)

Filling

* Remove screw (arrow)
* Fill with transmission oil to lower edge of filler hole
* Install screw (arrow)
* Start the engine, engage a gear and let the transmission run approx. 2 minutes
* Shut engine off
* Remove screw (arrow)
* Add transmission oil as necessary to the lower edge of filler hole
* Install screw (arrow)

I know this is an old post. But in case someone else is reading
this. The above picture is of the wrong transmission.

The cabrio transmission is a 020 tranny.

Attached is a correct image. The fill/check hole is at the right.

It sounds like they filled the tranny through the timing plug hole.

Transmission fluid then contaminated the clutch assembly.
