Transmission issue

I have a 2000 Toyota 4Runner. When I put it in "Drive", nothing happens. I had to put it in "Low" just to get home tonight. That is the only gear that would work. What's wrong with my car?

There's several possible causes for your issue, ranging from a bent/broken shift linkage, a burned out solenoid, simply low on fluid, clogged valve body, etc.

Unfortunately, there's no way for me to be sure, and You'll have to take the tranny into the shop.
