2000 Ford F-150 lights blink and engine wont turn over.

When I put the key in the ignition the entire trucks power will blink on and off, the headlights come on even though I dont switch them on and they blink as well. The truck makes a clicking sound kinda like when you have your blinker on or the hazord lights on. The truck will not crank, I think it may be a battery problem but I am not sure.

Battery is suspected. Replacement is warranted

I replaced the battery and the starter solenoid, I put a screwdriver up to the solenoid when I do that the vehicle will start that way but not when I use the key

Back trace the starter initiation wire to the ignition switch, and check to see if the ignition switch sends voltage to the starter when in the start position
